All the staff members I interacted with from the front desk to the cleaning staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to give advice on places to go and how to get there. We were in a large room with two double beds that were very comfortable, there was a nice, large flat screen tv and best of all, free wifi. The hotel is located right on the water, so I was able to get out running and you could also go around the corner to the local gym too. The location was great because it was a few blocks from numerous buses, trains and bridges, so you could easily get to attractions on both sides of the river.

What really impressed me was the day we checked out we left our bags to do some last sightseeing before our flight and during the day found out our flight had been cancelled. When we returned to Hotel Fifty, we inadvertently took over a whole portion of their lobby while trying to get our flights rebooked and find a place to stay for the night. The staff put aside a room for us while we figured out our plans and never rushed us to leave even after it was clear we would not be taking the room.

We were able to get a great price for the hotel through an online travel site, so while it is a bit on the pricier side, you can find good prices on travel sites for the hotel.

I was lucky to get a room through Priceline at Hotel Fifty--the rate was embarrassingly inexpensive.
Don' t let the lobby (not so impressive fool you).
Service was fantastic-Rick went above and beyond to help us plan our day with our four year old son.
The restaurant was simply divine--I have read mixed reviews, which I find surprising. We had probably the best simple cheeseburger we have had in years. The tuna tartar with coconut cream was excellent, as was the duck entree with fennel gnocchi. Portion sizes were medium to generous.
Ask for a room (we upgraded for $20) with a river view--I think it makes a difference in the impression one has of the rooms.
A great experience overall. comfy beds!

I stayed there for three night the overall was excellent otherwise slightly small but bed is extremely comfortable and it is what i need, despite for a view of the hotel car park other than that the hotel is a stone throw away from the light rail station on Morrison st and the staff were very friendly. definitely be back for sure

I really like Hotel Fifty. The design, décor and service are excellent for the price. I have stayed here twice now and have no desire to try another hotel in Portland. The room service is also quite nice and affordable.

I am a business traveler who now comes to Portland on business every 2 weeks. Hotel 40 has become my hotel of choice. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the food in the restaurant is excellent and the location ot down town is a plus. It looks a bit like a retro hotel form the outside, but inside, I found the rooms modern, clean, and comfortable.
