To start the room I had was very nice. The beds were extremely comfortable,
everything in the room worked with no problems, it was very clean, and and
almost everything was updated. (HDTV would have been nice) I really enjoyed my
stay. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to
anyone traveling in Portland for business or leisure.

My first feeling of this hotel were horrible. The staff here fixed things in a
manor in which I would be back. My first room was so noisey and when I asked to
be moved they did it with no issues what so ever. Thank to the young lady
working the desk. She took care of me so quick. The breakfast was a little on
the cold side and the room seemed a little dated but overall for the price I
would say it is a good place to go. A little to busy but it close to where I
need to go. Thanks for fixing things quickly and in a good spirit.

Good: the hotel has all the goodies of the Holiday Inn Express hotels, which we
like a lot: good beds, spacious rooms, free breakfast, nice staff, free parking,
free high speed internet.
Bad: the rooms along the street side are very (and I mean VERY) noisy. This
street somehow leads to an industrial area, so trucks drive through the street
whole day AND NIGHT. We stayed 2 nights, so after one bad night, we tried to
change to another room, which was impossible according to desk staff, since
hotel was booked out.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. The hotel room was not luxurious, but was
nice enough, and very clean. It included a small refrigerator and microwave. The
bathroom was of a decent size with lots of counter space. The room was quiet (we
were on the parking lot side away from traffic). Staff was fine. The breakfast
was typical HI Express with a good selection of hot items. A big plus is the
value here--free parking and a reasonable room rate. The location is not ideal,
but it is ok. It is sort of on the outer edge of the 23rd street restaurant and
shopping district, a few blocks from where the restaurants start and 7 blocks
from the streetcar line. By the way, my wife and I both loved the Marrakesh
restaurant on 21st. On-site laundry was ok, though one of the two washers was
out of order. Families seemed to love the pool.

I spent three nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Portland and it was fabulous.
Its a bit out of the way from downtown but its just 3 blocks from Knob Hill, an
adorable section of town with boutiques, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and
public transportation. The hotel was extremely clean and quiet. The staff were
super friendly. It also has rooms that look directly at Mt. Hood when its not
hiding in the clouds. The hotel has a full laundry and a nice pool and hot tub.
The free breakfast had lots of choices and if you want something else its easy
to walk down the street to a restaurant or coffee shop. Its very close to the
freeway exit too so its easy to go on day trips to Multonomah Falls or Mt. Hood.
If I get a chance to go out to Portland again, I will definitely stay at this
hotel.
