The Mark Spencer Hotel is placed in the middle of everything I wanted to be
close to: downtown, Pearl district, Nob Hill. The prices are excellent, and they
even let you "barter" your online reservation price! Breakfast is a step up from
your typical continental choices, and it even includes espresso. There is
afternoon tea and evening wine tasting where you are
sure to meet some well traveled people. After a full day of visiting the
Saturday market, Powell's bookstore, sampling the limitless cuisine, and miles
of walking, I jumped into the memory foam bed and was wrapped up in it's cozy
embrace and lulled off to a deep, refreshing sleep.
My only disappointment was to find the rooftop patio closed for remodel. Guess
I'll just have to go back next summer to enjoy it!

This is a great hotel with a comfy bed right in a perfect location. Just a block
from Powell's Books and around the corner from some great eateries. The staff
(John, Jade, Zalin, Chris - just to name a few) is wonderful, helpful and
friendly! I must say, they really made my stay at this lovely hotel. Nice
complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening wine sampling. I will
definitely stay there again!! Thanks to you all!!

This hotel is a gem! It is in a great location, the front desk is professional
and helpful, the wine tasting was such fun. There are lots of great restaurants
within walking distance. The cappuccino machine in the lobby is a nice touch. I
visit Portland several times a year. From now on, I will stay at the Mark
Spencer!

We couldn't ask for more. The staff is very responsive. Room was clean and
quiet. I think they are upgrading the rooms little by little and we had one of
the recently redecorated ones. The hotel is within walking distance of Jimmy
Maks, which was our recent reason for being in Portland. But it is also close to
Powells and the Portland Playhouse. Fine hotel. We'll be back. And they have
cookies and coffee in the afternoon.

This is a great hotel! They always promote you to a nicer room but it's still
your choice. It's only a block to Powells city of books and only 10 minute walk
to ristorante Roma so very good loc.
